Software We Own: Introducing Echo and YouIZin
Most of what Innova Group does is delivered as a service: managed IT, cloud work, security assessments, applications built for one client and handed over. Alongside that, we build and own a small amount of software outright. Two of those are far enough along to talk about, so this is an introduction to both — including, in each case, exactly how finished they are.
Echo is a security operations dashboard for Microsoft 365. It came out of a frustration our own engineers have every morning: the signal you need is all there, it is just spread across the Entra admin centre, Intune, the Defender portal, Exchange admin, Purview, the Microsoft 365 admin centre, service health and the sign-in logs. Answering “is anything wrong today?” means opening eight consoles and holding the answer in your head as you go. Echo runs a collection against the tenant and puts the whole picture on one screen — secure score and its trend, open incidents by severity, risky users and sign-ins, device compliance, email threats, control coverage against CIS, ISO 27001, NIST CSF and SOC 2, and live Microsoft 365 service health.
Echo is built and working. You can use the whole thing on its product page: every view, every drill-down, sorting, filtering, CSV export, light and dark, and it reflows properly onto a phone rather than shrinking. What it reads today is fictional data rather than a live tenant, and that is the honest limit — it is a working build we are shaping with a small number of organisations, not a product you can buy this afternoon.
YouIZin came from the opposite direction: a client needed staff and visitor sign-in that also satisfied their fire-safety procedure, and kept working when the site's connection did not. What we built for them turned out not to be their problem alone. It handles staff, visitors, contractors and deliveries through one kiosk, prints visitor badges on arrival, and keeps a live register that reception can see at any moment.
The part that matters is the fire register. Everyone signed in appears on one roll call — staff, contractors, deliveries and visitors together — rather than a paper book by the door that was last correct at half past eight. Sign-in keeps recording with no network connection at all and uploads when it returns, so an evacuation during an outage is not an evacuation without a register. There is a working kiosk on the product page, and you can set the fire alarm off yourself to see what happens.
YouIZin is close to release. Every deployment is fitted to the site it runs on — your branding, your evacuation procedure, your assembly points, your terminology — and the records live in your own Microsoft 365 tenant under your access and retention policies rather than in a third-party cloud you cannot see into. Organisations sign people in differently, and the ones with formal fire-safety procedures cannot bend them to fit somebody else's software.
Neither product changes what the four practices do. They exist because the same instinct sits behind both: take something fragmented, manual or awkward, and make it clearer and easier to operate. That is the same instinct we bring to a client build — these two just happened to be problems worth solving more than once.
